We’re delighted to announce that Rutuku Richard has taken over as the new Project Director of Cricket Builds Hope!

Rutuku brings a wealth of experience to the role from the public, private and aid sectors, most recently at the Rwanda Standards Board. He has lived in Kigali for fifteen years and is looking forward to the challenge of growing Cricket Builds Hope over the next few years. Speaking at the Gahanga Cricket Stadium, Rutuku said:

“What has been achieved so far with the Gahanga Cricket Stadium is incredible. Now we want to get the stadium to the point of sustainability, and grow the cricket for social change side of the charity. Not only do I believe that Rwanda can become an icon in world cricket, but we can use the game to transform people’s lives. I can’t wait to get started.”

Rutuku is also looking forward to joining Stadium Manager and Rwanda men's team captain Eric Dusigizimana in the nets for some coaching tips.

Cricket Builds Hope would like to thank our previous Project Director, Geordie Morrison, for all his hard work as he returns to London.
